I read the entire forum and there is a lot of surprising speculations. It’s not true at all. The satellite will perform as our engineers calculated it and provided that information to Orion Express. There is no doubt that it will be successful. Could you imagine we sell you capacity which will not work? As the biggest satellite operator we do not things like that, we are even sometimes too conservative!
The forum started that another operator didn’t took capacity on this satellite. But there is two we offered to various other customers in the region not the beam you looking for (called «North America Beam») but the other beam, called «East Coast North America Beam». This beam is quite narrow and would cover just a small region of Russia and therefor was not interesting to any operator.
About the satellite itself, right it was designed for both TV and VSAT. But we sold it successfully for VSAT over the US, not because any techncial limitations but because the market developed in such a way. The satellite is very capable to carry TV services.
Finally, the satellite is healthy and there are no issues with antenna pointing or so, as speculated in the forum.
